Prins Bernhard Cultural Fund award 2012

The King’s Commissioner and chairman of Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Limburg, Th. J.F.M. Bovens, handed over the award to Joost Vrouenraets on friday 9th of November 2012 at the Gouvernement in the hall where the Treaty of Maastricht is signed.

Joost Vrouenraets received the Inspiratieprijs in the category dance. The jury: "He is an international operating choreographer; he makes and develops modern interdisciplinary dance performances. He knows to surround himself with top dancers. With his touring productions he is an ambassador for Limburg, in the Netherlands and abroad. Joost Vrouenraets fascinates because of his philosophy, passion and motivation to make dance in and from Limburg."

The Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Limburg gives out the award every year. The price is awarded to a person or organization, who has made himself particularly meritorious in the field of literature, virtual arts, e-culture, visual arts, music, dance, theatre, history, nature conservation or conservation of monuments.The award consists of € 10.000 and a glass object form artist Ruth Houkes.

Joost Vrouenreats, Maïté Guérin and Joris de Man (composer & sound designer) gave a life performance.
